G'day

This wine has become a six-pack buy for me every year for a while now. Decanted shortly before service.

Purple black in colour and quite dense. The expected blackcurrant on the nose, along with some dried herbs, black olive, coffee grounds and vanillan oak.

The palate has more juicy blackcurrant / berry, with tannins already well integrated, and oak in the background. Acid is supportive but not prominent, and the wine is medium bodied, and flows evenly to a consistent finish.

At seven year of age, and from a cooler vintage (the 'flood' vintage in the Swan Valley), I reckon this is peaking now. It should hold for a couple of years at least, which is just as well, as I have a few more bottles in the cellar.

Cheers
Allan
