G'day
This wine was decanted 3 hours before service, and returned to the cellar (on yet another bloody hot day in Perth). So, hopefully it's now being consumed at the temperature of a moderate afternoon in Burgundy
Crimson colour and translucent. A stalky / sappy nose with dark cherry, forest floor / mulch, fennel and nutmeg. The palate shows brighter cherry and cranberry, with barely noticeable tannins and unobtrusive acid. Linear entry and the wine fills out more towards the finish. Reasonable length and pleasing finish.
I can't guess as to the potential longevity of this wine - I think it's fine in the short term, but would appreciate comments from people with more experience.
Cheers
