What "status" are you for Sami Odi? I'm still yet to receive my email...

A trip to Pemberton for the first time in over a decade revealed that:
a) the wineries I wanted to visit (and have bought from in the past) are not open. These include Pemberley and Picardy
b) at least one winery which I was an enthusiastic supporter of (which shall remain nameless), now produces much lower quality wine
but at least:
c) Silkwood was a wallet opener. They make three ranges, the Bowers ($21 a bottle for several varieties), the Walcott ($30 a bottle across the range) and the Bowman ($55 per bottle - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cebernet Sauvignon). There's also a couple of sparkiling wines, which my partner enjoyed. A dozen and a half of the Bowers Chardonnay came home with us, along with a couple of sparklings, and two or more bottles of each of the Bowmans also jumped into the boot of the car. By the way, lunch was also high quality with an interesting menu.
Cheers
Allan

I bought an 1825 Malaga and an 95 White Burg. I’m sure the latter will be poxed but the former will be great.
The 1825 features prominently on the bottle, but it’s not quite what it seems. It’s amfrom a Solera and bottled by a company set up it in 1825. Hard to tell how old the wine really is - probably bottled in the 49-60 period and the contents will be just a bit older. Lots of good stuff comes from Malaga - Muller is the famous name - I used to own some 1885 (Solera of course, though they never say that at the auction sites)

Yes, thanks for the recommendation. A good chance a bottle gets sampled this weekend before the box goes off to storage.
Picked up a couple of LEAS Cabernets via auction. 2005 and 2006. I really like these wines as they get to 15-20 years.
Cheers Ed
