I don't have a lot of experience with Brunelli, so a great opportunity to test out what is probably a mid-range Brunello from a good vintage. 13% alcohol.
Crimson in the glass. Dark cherries and pronounced earthiness on the nose, with some cola and leather. A slight liqueur tinge to it.
The palate evolved greatly over a couple of hours. A mix of fruit sweetness balanced by savoury / earthy / leather notes. Intensity and length without being a fruit bomb, and excellent with food. Probably will improve for many more years.
Cheers
