TN: Moorooduc Estate Robinson Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

G'day. This was purchased from the winery on a visit in late 2016.
Crimson colour, quite deep. Powerful and perfumed nose, with sour cherry, dark plums, spice, leather, mushroom, and a little earthiness/ mulch (a good thing!). The palate is also powerful without being overly weighty, although there is a richness to the finish. There's plenty of fleshy fruit flavour, showing some signs of development, along with more spice and savoury characters. Tannins are barely noticeable, and acid is supportive without being sharp. Persistent finish.
The wine is very well balanced, and I am expecting this will go perfectly with tonight's duck and mushroom risotto. Probably at its peak.
Cheers
Allan
