Canberra and surrounds cellar doors and restaurants

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

I'll be in Canberra for work late November. Apart from the possibility of an offline (see Canberra BYO thread), I'm thinking of staying on for a couple more days and exploring the area from a wine perspective.

Any recommendations on wineries to visit and places to stay / eat would be most welcome.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Clonakilla and Helm are the only two I have been too, I would definitely recommend both.

We had a great lunch at Poacher's Pantry at Springrange, I highly recommend this if you are heading in the Murrumbateman direction.

There are a couple of good breweries too: Bentspoke at Braddon and Capital Brewing Co at Fyshwick.

I would add in Alex McKay's Collector Wines. Very cute cellar door out at Collector. Great little cafe next-door called Some Cafe.
