TN: Forest Hill Block 8 Chardonnay 2012

A long time favourite from the Great Southern here in WA. This wine (an earlier vintage) was the first wine to convince me (many years ago) that Aussie chardonnay could age longer than five years.
Medium yellow in the glass, with no tendency towards gold. Quite a savoury nose, slightly dominating the citrus (grapefruit, mainly) and stone fruits. There's traces of vanillan oak as well. The palate has more apparent fruit, and is quite full with a glossy texture and slight tannic grip. Quite a long finish and this would be a good food wine.
I'm enjoying this, although wonder if it would have been better a year ago (no more than that). Not likely to improve, but may hold a little while.
Cheers
