TN: Andre Clouet 'Le Clos' 2008 Champagne (Bouzy, France)

Only available in magnum, so it required four of us to tame it. I believe this is 100% from Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy.
Yellow / gold in colour. Persistent and fine bead. Intense and complex nose, with toast, freshly baked bread, red apples, toffee, with a touch of minerality in amongst the brioche.
The palate is full and rich, with strawberry, yeast autolysis, and a touch of mushroom. Cleansing acid in support. The wine is mouthfilling, and finishes quite long.
An absolutely interesting, and ultimately satisfying, vintage Champagne.
Cheers
