G'day
I'm a fan of Gentree's Uncut Shiraz as a quality everyday drinking shiraz that handles a few year of age. This is one of their reserve wines. 14% alcohol, with 18 months in French oak.
Purple / black in colour, and nearly opaque. The nose is powerful, with lots of dark plums, blackberry, mocha, vanilla, and this has all of the components you would expect from a full-bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz. The palate is rich, with more of those dark fruits flooding the palate. Tannins are noticeable but not overly chunky, but yet to integrate fully. There's good balance here - the nose promises almost a big Barossa style shiraz, but there's admirable restraint and finesse while remaining medium-to- full bodied. Long finsh.
At 7 years of age, I suspect I am drinking it too young. Another 3 years at least before it really hits its stride.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
