TN: John Kosovich Cabernet Malbec 2008

Kosovich is a long established (1922) Swan Valley producer, but the grapes for this wine are sourced from vineyards in Pemberton. 85% Cabernet.
Crimson fading to garnet in colour, and lighter than expected. The nose is fragrant, with lifted red fruits, violets blackberry and cocoa powder. The palate is medium-to-high acid, which is most noticeable on the tip of the tongue. There's strong supporting tannins (not clunky at all), and the fruit characters sit well over the top. Reasonably mouth-filling , with more cocoa and a touch of leather. Medium-to-full bodied and good length.
Most enjoyable. I have several younger vintages of this wine, and look forward to trying the 2010s
Cheers
