TNR: 2001 Hanisch or Heysen

After convincing myself I already have too much wine, I just sprung for some of Rolf Binder's 2001 Hanisch and Heysen Shiraz and a couple of Aussie Chards from the Margaret River. Since I tasted the 2001s out of the barrel with Rolf, I decided I owed it to him to buy a few bottles. (And I happened to really like them.) Any thoughts on how the 2001 Heysen or the Hanisch are doing these days? I only snagged two bottles of each and would hate to waste one.

Also, any idea why the wines are marketed in the US as Rolf Binder Wines rather than Veritas?

Jon, the 01 Hanisch is a very good wine, I have TN's somewhere, but not with me right now.

Haven't had the 01 Heysen, but watch for the 02, it is absolutely stunning.

cheers

Andrew

Thanks

I suspect I'll open a bottle of the 01 Heysen in a few weeks, when another Veritas junky comes to visit, and hide the other Hanisch and Heysen in the back of my cellar. If I open the Heysen, I'll post some notes.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the 02 Heysen. We barrel tasted some barrels of the 02s as well, but nothing had been blended yet.
