Purchased from the winery on a trip to the Mornington Peninsula in late 2016. This is the Estate wine, and not the cheaper Massale.

Pale garnet in colour. Intriguing and complex nose with sour cherry, under-ripe strawberry, mushroom, earthiness, and five spice. The palate is light bodied and delicate, with fine grained tannins barely noticeable and excellent supporting acid. The fruit follows a line down the tongue and the throat, and the other elements almost wrapping around that line. Medium to long finish.

A great example of Mornington Pinot, and still plenty of time in the tank. One of the best Australian pinots I have tried this year.

Cheers
Allan

18 months on from my last bottle, this wine has filled out a little, with more savoury and earthy notes alongside the fruit on the nose, and those savoury elements also more noticeable on the palate. Perhaps fruit has just dropped a little in proportion to the other elements. More mushroom than previously. The palate is still quite linear, and tannins and acid are both supportive and barely obtrusive.

No rush to drink, but possibly at its peak.
