TN: Sandalford Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

From their Margaret River estate, not the historic Swan Valley estate. 15 months in French oak
Purple red in colour. Brambly blackberry fruit on the nose, with mocha / vanilla, and more than a hint of spearmint. A touch of tobacco and olive as well. A harmonious nose, with the elements identifiable but meshing well and providing interest.
The palate is medium to full bodied. Acid is present but in the background, while the tannins are quite grippy and assertive. Both the fruits and the mocha character flow nicely across the tongue, and there's a lick of spice. A reasonably long finish completes a satisfying wine.
Too young, however - from experience with previous vintages, this will be even better in 5 years' time.
Cheers
