Big Pond stuffs up my plans again! Tour Diary...

Post by TORB »

Hi Good Peoples,

I had intended to send out the latest Irregular Update announcing the 2004 South Oz Tour Diary tonight. However, first the computer in my shop clagged it and was sent off for warranty repairs this afternoon.

When I got home, the internal modem on my machine had died!

Went to Hardy Normal and purchased an external one till I can get this ****ing computer fixed under extended warranty.

Got the modem installed and then Big PONG has instituted some new CRAP that stops me sending out email to people that have subscribed to it!

98% of SPAM comes from the US but Big PONG thinks it can stop it by stopping legitimate email in Oz. :( The inmates are running the asylum.

Just in case anyone is interested, the first chapter of the 2004 SA Tour diary can be found here.

Frustrated? What would every give you that idea!
Cheers

In typical fashion, Big Pond have no idea what caused the problem, why it happened and why I can now use the program that was rejected by their server yesterday.

According to them, the bulk email program I have been using for months, should work or should not work - depending on which techo you talk too!

The best was, last night the supervisor pointed me to a message centre and told me to email it so it could be sorted out by the back office people. This morning I get a response from the satellite dept that referred me back to the page the supervisor and I had been working on that contained the email link.

When I rang the help desk, they told me to forward the response to another email address and ask the person to call me. I did as asked. I then got an email back from the second email address, who was the same person who answered the first email, telling me he had no phone access and suggesting I call the help desk.

What a pack of.....
Cheers

It almost makes you want to set up your own 802.11b antenna on your roof and join the ever growing band of wireless P2P networks.
Ciao,

michaelw

You know it makes sense!
