We might have to go without here in Australia...unsure who will be taking over distribution from McWilliams.

I wasn’t aware they lost the rights. I knew they were having some financial woes, but haven’t kept up with the latest...

2016 Craiglee Reserve shiraz - really keen to try this one, as their regular shiraz is fantastic!

Yep agree. I would love a few of these but $$ is an issue for me atm.

I think timing of release is never more relevant than now and I think the period between July and October is a competitive release period - at least for the wines I buy including Wendouree, Marius, Tyrrell’s, Mt Mary etc etc

Ohh well maybe next time.

Agreed on the above and indeed I was asking myself why I just didn't go for the mixed sixer or another combination, but there we have it. Doesn't help that one of my bucket-list / must have motorcycles just came on the market at the same time either. Tight times but dammit I've been looking for over 15 years!

Hi Con, it is funny as I took a look at these two bottles as I am a 1958 baby and there a bugger all 1958 wines out there. When I saw the current bid levels I lost interest.......

good to know they have gone to a good home. :D

6 * 2015 Yellow Wine, Denton

This is the 2nd release of this wine. Missed it the first time around - it did well in 2018 TWF Chardonnay Challenge. This release has spent an additional 2 years under Flor and should even further on the way to one of wines holey grails - Vin Jaune. Comes in a handy 500ml size - lets face it, even for battle scarred Jura lovers, a full bottle of VJ is a challenge.

I couldn't resist buying a couple of bottles of 2015 Casa de Mouraz Dao, Portugal (13.5%), It's made from fields blends of multiple red varieties as shown on the label.
Casa Mouraz.jpg
I think it's my first Dao purchase in quite a while, not since a 2001 some years ago. They can last a long time, at least some of the older ones.

Cheers ......................... Mahmoud.

Ian,

How is the Dukes cabernet? Surprised you didn't go for the reserve Riesling while you were at it, given recent accolades.
Have you tried any of the Castle Rock wines, which I believe are made by the same winemaker?

The YouTube videos posted by Erin Larkin are a great watch and insight into the WA wine scene, with comparisons to other regions. John Jens a great character too.

Simon,

Haven't tried one yet. I did think about getting some of the Riesling but in the end, I've bought so much the last couple of months I gave them a miss. I only bought the Cabernet as I just don't have a lot of WA Cabernet in my cellar and I've been trying to diversify a little bit more recently. I have so much SA stuff so as you'll see from my purchases, apart from the Caillard (which was too good a deal to turn down), there is no Barossa/McLaren Vale stuff there.

I'll have a look at the YouTube stuff, cheers for that.

Cheers
Ian
