G'day

My last bottle of this wine. Deep purple in colour, quite dark.

A slightly muted nose of dark plums, chocolate, leather,, dried herbs and cloves - muted probably because of the temperature it is served at - it is increasing in volume as it rests in the glass. Moderate bead which is fading over 10 minutes or so.

The palate is rich, with the CO2 providing a little zing on the middle palate. Dark chocolate, a little coffee, ripe plums and blue fruits, leather, and savoury (developed) characters are all quite prominent. There's some tannic grip, and sufficient acid to give the impression of freshness.

This is exactly what it says on the label - shiraz that sparkles, and is ageing very nicely indeed. It is full and satisfying, without being overly heavy. Good balance.

Cheers
Allan
