TN: Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Shiraz 2015

Post by Waiters Friend »

Decanted at least 2 hours before service

Purple black in colour. Lots of juicy red and dark fruits (raspberry and blackberry) on the nose, with black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and leather. The palate is medium weight, with the fruits supported by moderate acid and tannins. There's a little licorice or aniseed as well. The only hint of the 13.5% alcohol is a very slight heat on the finish.

This is an elegant shiraz rather than a powerhouse, and really well balanced. I reckon it will peak in another 3-5 years, as more savoury elements start to emerge.
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
