I believe this producer has just won "best small Swan Valley cellar door". The winery has been there since 1922, and features an underground cellar as the tasting area.
Medium yellow in colour. A mix of fruit and savoury on the nose, with grapefruit, nectarine, and yellow peach alongside nutty oak, vanilla and autolysis characters.
The palate carries the grapefruit and stone fruits well, with acid enhancing the fruit freshness, and the oak is in a supporting role. Both the acid and the oak are adding to the mouthfeel, which is full but not heavy. Good length.
Overall, and at 8 years of age, this is looking very good indeed. Probably not likely to improve, but should hold for a couple more years. I may not wait that long for my remaining few bottles.
Cheers
Allan
