Sad news from one of my favourite producers:

Lots of trial ferments happening in the Adelaide hills, the full extent of the smoke taint there yet to be fully realised, noting the number of growers/winemakers who have already lost a lot, or everything.

Yes, Tyrrell's also announced virtually all their Private Bins & Sacred Sites won't have a 2020 iteration.
Tough call to make, but shows a quality mindset.

I'm a wholesaler/Distributor based on the Mornington Peninsula, and just before December, set up a branch in ACT/Sydney/Southern NSW.
Boy, what an interesting decision!
However, I am now realizing the whole Australian economy is in for a very tough 12 months, minimum.
I believe we have been in a recession since October, the fires and the lack of Asian tourists have just compounded the problem. You can be doing everything right as far as business set up goes, but still you're going to find it tough. But at least you're not alone. What's the famous saying.... working a whole lot more for a whole lot less!
I really feel for those wineries directly and personally effected by the fires.
