TN: The Lake House Frankland River Shiraz 2013

The Frankland River region in WA produces excellent Riesling and shiraz. This is from a Denmark producer, and made by James Kellie of Harewood Estate, from Frankland River fruit.
Crimson, purple in colour, and not quite opaque (may have only been lightly filtered). There's developed dark fruits (blackberry, dark cherry) on the nose, with some mocha and spice. The palate is quite rich, but not a blockbuster, with more dark fruits, licorice and dark chocolate. There's fine but grippy tannins, and acid plays a strong supporting role. The savoury elements from age are starting to emerge, but there's a few years left in this wine.
Very good now.
Cheers
