Last tasted when purchased at cellar door this time 3 years ago. Now yellow in the glass but at the lighter end of the spectrum.

Complex nose of yellow peach and other stone fruits, cashew, a little struck match, honeydew melon and a little vanilla. The palate is textured and a little creamy, with reasonable supporting acid and slightly grippy mouthfeel. The developed fruit flavours are slightly dominated by the oak and the winemaking - this may be just a phase.

There's certainly a lot going on in the glass, and the wine is very interesting as a result. I'm just not sure it is in balance at this stage of its life.

Cheers
Allan

My last bottle of this. Full yellow in the glass with gold tinges.

This has (not surprisingly) developed somewhat from the previous tasting; however, at eight years old this is showing really well. I questioned the balance in my previous note, but there is no question this time.

The nose is powerful and complex with lots of nectarine and stonefruits, bursting out of the glass. Cashew, vanilla and melon are all still present. The palate remains textured and creamy, but now the oak has dialled down somewhat and the fruit is shining. Medium to long finish and all in balance.

Glorious chardonnay, at its peak.

Cheers
