A lazy $372,800 later.

Craig?
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

I recall sets going in the early 90’s for 50K-70K.
Daydreamed about buying a Grange collection and a Don Bradman bat at about the same time. What a shame ! Invested in inner city property instead. Although maybe in the case of MEL and SYD a better performance than the seemingly expensive Grange set.
Aussie super would be an even better performer for many ?

Yes have (unfortunately) a very distant rellie who recently sold an inner Melbourne property approximately 42 times original purchase price...way better than any Grange set.JamieBahrain wrote:I recall sets going in the early 90’s for 50K-70K.

Clearly your property investment was a better bet than a few standout wines from a set that potentially contains many bottles of vinegar...can't see the point of owning wine that is essentially a dust collector, and can't be drunk, because the buyer can't afford to drink it, hence sporadic trophy sales
A Bradman bat...a Babe Ruth ball might be a different story

I recall Bradman signed any- and everything in an attempt to make his autograph not especially valuable.
Hasn't worked perhaps...
