TN: Olivers Taranga HJ Shiraz 2012

The middle tier for Olivers Taranga shiraz, but also Langton's classified (relatively recently). I think the price has jumped since classification, and this was purchased prior, as part of a 'buy 10 standard shiraz and get 2 of the HJs for $40 more'. I suspect they may not offer this anymore ….
Deep purple / black in the glass. Intense nose of dark plums, rich blueberries, mocha characters and cedar. Fruit is still primary at this stage. The palate is also full, a little velvety in texture, with the flavours and tannins meshing to produce an almost molten berry/chocolate coasting on the tongue. Mouthfilling without being chunky, leading to a long finish.
Very satisfying wine - but I suspect needs another 3-5 years. Fortunately, I have a couple more.
Cheers
