Majella Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Deep purple in colour. Lots of primary fruit on the nose - especially the typical blackcurrant. There's cassis, vanilla, cedar, tobacco, and coffee grounds. RIpe and lush fruit flows over the tongue. Tannins are present, but hardly noticeable, as is the acid - neither are soft, but the fruit is centre stage at this point in the wine's development. Long finish.

I realise I am probably drinking this 5 years too early. The rest can stay in the cellar for a while.

Cheers
Allan

Tried this on Saturday Allan in a Majella 10 year vertical... promising and should develop well. The 16, 12 and 10 IMHO were the top wines of the tasting.
Not surprising, despite 8 years, the 2011 still has a green twinge. I am still yet to try an 11 that has the goods, and unfortunately book ended by two very good vintages, there should have been a line put through 2011 Coonawarra.
Cheers Craig

I've always found the Majella to be a little more acid forward than most, but I still like the style even though I haven' t bought any for a while. Agree on the 2011. I remember going to the same event some years ago.... either 2012 or 13 I think and thinking the same about the 2011. 2007 wasn't much better, but the overall 10 year retrospective was interesting and educational, and there were some very good Cab Sauvs made.
