TN: Poliziano Il Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone 2016

Purple red in the glass. Rich nose of cherries and plums, with a touch of vanilla. Some savoury characters as well, including a touch of tobacco and leather. Full and firm palate, with grippy tannins and strong supporting acidity. Long finish.
Of course, I am drinking this way too young, but it was available by the glass at La Dolce Vita, the restaurant / enoteca 50m up the road, so worth trying. Retail on the bottle was E41.50.
I've been a fan of the standard (black label) Poliziano Il Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (Retail E22) since my first trip nearly 5 years ago. I can get it in Perth for AUD70. The Asinone is definitely a step up, and probably needs 7-10 years.
Cheers
