2016 Passopisciaro Etna Passorosso

Mainly Nerello Mascalese. 80-110 year old vines, 550-1100m altitude. 14% ABV.
Vibrant but light red fruits (strawberry & cherry), red liquorice, smoked red meat, roses, vanilla, bitter salts, smooth tannins, bright volcanic acidity. Many layers to the complexity here. Long finish with the slightest hint of orange rind. Great to drink now, but will be much better in 5 years.
