TN: Talijancich Julian James White Liqueur

This bottle has been in the cellar for 6 or more years. Unlike vintage ports, this is unlikely to have improved the wine. It's the product of a long running solera system, and another bottle purchase more recently will be looked at soon.
This White Liqueur (Swan Valley, 18% abv) is actually black in colour and has been since purchase (if you walked into cellar door today and purchased a bottle, it would be black in colour). The reason it is called White, of course, is that it is made from white grape varieties, predominantly Verdelho (which Talijancich makes excellent dry white versions of, that age well) and Pedro Ximenez.
Excellent nose of toffee, Christmas cake, honey and soft juicy raisins. The juicy fruit translates into the palate as well, with Golden Syrup / treacle, caramel, and a delightful viscosity that helps impart some softness and a plush texture.
Utterly delicious, and something that the Swan Valley could rival Rutherglen for. Time for a second glass.
