From Heathcote in Victoria. 15% alcohol.
Deep purple in colour. Huge nose of ripe dark fruits, especially black plums, along with spicy vanillan oak, and some mocha. This all follows through to the palate. Tannins have integrated well, and there's less mouth-puckering than I expected. There's some acid towards the front of the palate, but this does not follow through on the finish, which is relatively muted and a little short.
So, in most respects, this is a big and powerful wine, only moderately let down by a disappointing finish. The big and powerful parts are delicious, and the nose is especially attractive.
Cheers
