TN: Franck Bonville Grand Cru Blanc De Blanc (Champagne)
Posted: Tue Apr 23, 2019 10:54 am
Distributed here through Burch Family Wines and was blended in 2013-14, with disgorgement in 2016.
Glowing yellow with gold tinges in the glass. The nose shows brioche, lemon pith, juicy figs, and signs of development through yeast autolysis - the time on lees has served it well. The palate is also showing signs of development, with a touch of sherry amongst the fruits. The mousse is persistent and lively, and there's a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Great supporting acid, and the wine finishes quite long.
A very good aperitif style, although would hold its own with some foods as well.
Cheers
