Hi David,

Perhaps be flexible with dates?

I'm in ADL April 1st but leaving 5th. Wouldn't mind a high end event or sharing of a few bottles.

ive put 5th April aside in the Cal.
I'll try and think of some theme ideas if we can build some interest/momentum.

Thanks David for trying to organize another offline...it looks like that Adelaide is currently a tough ground for offlines.
I'd definitely be interested but unfortunately can't do first week in April. Also away over Easter.
It would be great to meet Jamie at some stage here in Adelaide for an offline.
Cheers, Mario

Oh well at least I have made a couple of attempts.

It would just be nice over the next couple of months to get a few folk together for a casual dinner, a few bottles of wine, coupled with some banter.

The last couple of events were wonderful.

Totally agree it would be great to meet Jamie given his extensive knowledge and experience.

I'd be up for an offline in May David. Having surgery next week and if all goes well will be away for about 10 days round Easter. I could have a look at an ampelon...but probably not high end enough.
Cheers
Craig

Gents,

I usually come down for the Crows v Bulldogs game but I'm tired of sitting under the score board in FZDZ/FZRA and watching the dogs get belted.

I know Mark W is keen to rejuvenate tastings. Not sure what's up with ADL but the off lines generally cosy affairs like the city. Everyone has a high interest bottle in their cellar to be perusing here I'm sure? Craig your 82 Riddoch would be a cracker. I just paid $450 for one to pair with a 82 707 as a cameo in a Riddoch vertical in HKG.

May 3rd looks free to me so please count me in as a starter.

Ps. It might be worth changing the title of this thread to include the date if it's a goer.

Cheers,
Ian

Hi Craig

It was hard enough juat getting the offline off the ground. LOL.

The original suggestion was super premium single vineyard but very, very happy if anyone has other ideas/suggestions?

Venue - Cliche Exhibition or would people prefer to change to another venue?

David

Given Australian winemakers are notorious blenders, the "single vineyard" and "super premium" concepts might be challenging in tandem.

Very happy with the food at Cliche, although each time I have gone there the bill comes in surprisingly more than expected. The first time I'm still sure they charged us for Jeff after he dropped out to illness with five days notice, the second time with another group was a complete unknown out of nowhere (I suspect additional corkage).

I will be very happy to go there again, but think we have to be prepared to really knuckle down on them in regard to sticking to a fixed price, and ensure we have everyone show up (or have reserves ready to go in case someone drops out).

Theme ideas. Got plenty of time so thought i might float a few.
The obvious choice is to run the 'langtons classified' filter and bring vino that ends in '0'. 1990, 2000, 2010 etc
Either that or 9. For some reason we skipped from 6 to 8 with a Wendouree tasting in between.
Perhaps we could do 9 and keep 0 in the bank for later. I've got decent options for both.

Another option is to perhaps focus on another winery/producer and break it down Wendouree style. Probably my favourite offline so far in terms of structure and approach. I do like the Langtons option but at the same time it's a bit random on the palate. Oh poor us.
Rockfords or Wynns?..... Some of you stone wall hoarders must have some solid contenders.

Another option is a varietal/region face off. I was thinking Cabs and I was thinking maybe Coonawarra v CV/BV combined.
Maybe SA cabs VS the rest of Aus?

Anywho just throwing a few ideas up. Get the cogs turning.
