Continuing the recent run of older Chalambars, I decided to open the 2007 tonight.

Deep purple in colour, and quite dense. Savoury oak on the nose, with developed dark plums and rich dark chocolate. Some vanilla and spice present also. The dark fruits continue across the palate, which shows moderately grippy and well integrated tannins, and sufficient acid to give the fruit some appearance of freshness. It's medium bodied, and finishes with reasonable length.

Probably not likely to improve much if at all, but quite satisfying as a 12 year old. There's obvious signs of development, and these add interest.

Cheers
