TN: Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Shiraz 2008

G'day
I've enjoyed the odd bottle of the Isolation Ridge Riesling and shiraz before, and with some bottle age. I visited this remote winery in the Great Southern in September and was impressed by the current vintages, especially the Isolation Ridge Shiraz 2015. So, when I saw the 2008 at a local retailer, I snapped it up.
Deep purple in colour. Rich nose of dark plums, vanilla, cloves and dark berries. There's some cedary oak as well. The palate has savoury elements as well as the dev eloping fruit flavours. Acid is supporting, and tannins are integrated and only slightly grippy. Medium to full bodied, with good length.
Possibly peaking, but may have another few years to go. Enjoyable wine indeed.
Cheers
Allan
