TN: Willespie Cabernet Sauvignon (Margaret River) 2007

This winery in Wilyabrup was established over 40 years ago.
I'm not sure why, but all of the wines listed on the Willespie website are older - generally 5+ years of age. I came across this wine at a wine show in Perth recently, and was impressed enough to buy a few.
Deep purple in colour. Rich nose with dusty cocoa powder, blackberry conserve, savoury oak, and a touch of cigar. The palate is similarly rich, almost viscous, with rich chocolate and coffee, and red and blue berries. Tannins have been well integrated, but still provide some grip. The wine has a nice balance between palate weight and developed fruit flavours, and is in a good place right now.
Possibly not likely to improve much - I'd suggest enjoying it soon.
Cheers
