TN: Talisman Riesling 2009

This winery is in the Ferguson Valley in WA, about a half hour east of Bunbury. I think it falls into the Geographe wine region.
I've tried a number of vintages of their Riesling previously, usually in mini-verticals. On this occasion, I have been able to buy a bottle each of every vintage from 2009 to 2018. For those who can count, that makes 10 bottles - this 2009 is one of the two extra bottles which made up the dozen (the other 'pair' being the 2011).
Yellow in colour, faintly approaching golden. A faint hint of kero initially. Surprisingly fresh lemon-lime on the nose, only hinting at cordial or marmalade. There's also hints of lemon blossom and orange peel. The palate is showing slightly more signs of development, with lime cordial, a touch of ginger and is slightly honeyed. Good supporting acid keeps some of the freshness, while the developed characters add interest.
From a region not necessarily renowned for Riesling, this one has all of the features of a good Riesling, and seems in no hurry to grow up. Easily another 3-5 years in this one.
Cheers
