TN: Howard Park Riesling Mount Barker Riesling 2018

G'day
This Riesling has been a "must buy" for many years now, and this vintage will be no exception. Howard Park generally makes two Rieslings - one from Mount Barker (or sometimes labelled "Great Southern") and one from the Porongorups sub-region. This is from the Mount Barrow vineyard, which is in the north east of the Great Southern region, but is just down the road from the official Porongorups boundary.
Straw in colour with a green tinge, clear and bright in the glass. The nose is perfumed and intense, with the expected lemon-lime complemented by Granny Smith apple and fresh pear. There's also some talc and florals. The palate is fresh and lively, with acid balanced nicely with the fruit. Medium length, and a wine that is both moderately mouth-filling with flavour, and refreshing.
Based on previous experience with this wine, I have no doubt it will age superbly (10+ years).
Cheers
Allan
