TN: Ashbrook Chardonnay 2015

G'day. This follows the Ashbrook 'tried and true' formula: 50% is barrel fermented and matured in new French oak for 8 months. This gives a balance between fruit freshness and the complexity you get from barrel work.
Pale yellow in colour. Lots of white peach, stonefruit and honeydew melon, with grilled cashew and a touch of vanilla. The palate reflects this, with powerful fruit currently dominating the oak. There's supporting acid, and this adds to the wine's freshness. Medium to long finish and quite satisfying.
Based on previous experience with this wine, this one is a baby, and has plenty of time ahead of it.
Cheers
