Another night to raid my cellar in the name of a good cause... drinking.

2000 Krug Brilliant, powerfull and took time to open up in glass. As you would expect, decades ahead of it.
2009 Faively Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru as per vintage, slightly forward and round. But beautifull to drink nonetheless.
1998 Ceretto Briccho Asili Bernadot Barbaresco. Also typical of the vintage, rounded, soft, slightly forward. Great to drink now, but not sure of life ahead.
2000 Guigal Cote Rotie Brun et Blonde. Awesome. Looks young, beautifully balanced and long.
1996 Moss Wood Cabernet. Yikes! is this amazing or what?? No way on earth a blind tasting would pick as a 20 year old. Seamless beautifull fruit. Will go another 20 years in a heartbeat! An Australian classic.
1998 Trimbach VT Gewurztraminer. Beautiful and fresh, lovely way to finish.

All were very good to great wines, a tie between the Krug and the Moss Wood for wine of the night.

I had a solitary bottle of the MW ‘96 out of my cellar a few years back and it was amazing and a complete revelation at the time as to just how good MR cab savs can be. I wish I had more than just one bottle but happy to have tried it at least once.

Thanks for the note on the Krug. Have 3 bottles in the cellar and have been wondering about their readiness to drink.
