16% alcohol. This was always going to be a big wine
Deep purple red in the glass. Huge nose full of licorice, dark berries, spicy oak and some Christmas pudding or brandy butter. Palate is also rich with cinnamon, ripe berries, and chocolate, while grippy tannins and noticeable acid and alcohol add to the overall mouthfeel.
While the "Wimps beware!" warning on the back label is probably accurate, it's not as obviously big as you would imagine. The wine carries the alcohol surprisingly well.
Cheers
