TN: Penfolds Yattarna 2008

Post by Waiters Friend »

Fruit sourced from Tasmania and Adelaide Hills. 13.3% alc.

Colour: Light gold with green tinges

Nose: Strong citrus, lime as much as lemon, considerable vanillan oak with accompanying spiciness. There’s also some stonefruit, and honeydew melon.

Palate: White peach, a touch of apricot, white grapefruit. It’s crisp and refreshing, while also being mouth-filling. Good supporting acid leads to a medium / long finish.

This bottle showed a lot better than one opened about a year ago (both under screwcap), and appears youthful. Penfolds recommends drinking to 2020, anbd that should present no problem.

Cheers

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
