TN: MyattsField Chardonnay 2016

This Perth Hills winery sources grapes from Manjimup for this chardonnay.
Yellow in colour. There's lemon, peach and cedary oak on the nose, along with some Granny Smith apple. The oak is quite savoury and pronounced, and derives from 3 months battonage followed by a further 9 months in barrel.
The palate shows more of the oak, and it also provides some grip or mouthfeel. There's good fruit and supporting acid leading to a fresh and clean finish. This is young now, but should open up nicely over the next year or two.
Cheers
