TN: Picardy Chardonnay 2016

G'day
This wine is a 6 pack minimum buy for me each year. A quick gallop through the cellar showed that I have at least 7 of them, so what better excuse to crack one?
Sealed under cork. Medium yellow in colour - darker than I would expect for a 2016. Delicious nose of ripe yellow peach, nectarine, a touch of grapefruit and lashings of cedary oak. The palate is rich, with the fruit well supported by tannic grip and freshened by a good line of acid. There's a touch of butter as well. Medium to long finish.
This is at the fuller end of the chardonnay spectrum, without being overblown or coarse. Well balanced and very satisfying. It will age well over 5-7 years.
Cheers
