G'day

We tried (and thoroughly enjoyed) the 2015 when we first tried it in late 2017. By that time, the winery had sold out, as had most other places, but I was able to track down a few bottles in Tasmania. The 2016 was also available, so I slipped a few of these into the box.

Pale yellow in colour. Intense yellow peach and nectarine aromas over some cedary oak and there's a bit of complexity and interaction between the various aromas (vanilla, brioche). The palate is finely balanced, with the savoury elements complemented by the acid and fruit, with a little citrus on the aftertaste.

All in all, a well balanced wine with more than complexity and interest than I would expect for the $25 price tag. I wonder what the Reserve tastes like, given a higher percentage of new oak.

Cheers
Allan
