G'day
This Great Southern wine is the current museum release from HP - they have a 5 year museum release program.
Tasted three times now since October. Pale yellow in colour. The nose is delightful and a little delicate, and shows lemon-lime, talc, some ginger, and fig paste. The wine is not just citrus, there's some lovely non-citrus characters starting to emerge.
The palate is generous without being broad - zingy acid keeps it taut and supports the fruit flavours very well. Medium finish and satisfying but hinting at greater rewards from further development.
I am convinced this is in a good place right now, but is only approaching its best and will improve. I'm not planning on opening another one for 2-3 years.
Cheers
Allan
