Glistening bright yellow/light gold colour. Voluminous nose of honey, limes, mineral, toast and petrol in perfect balance and of the highest quality that swamps the olfactory senses. A palate to die for - bucketloads of beautifully integrated citrussy fruit, honey 'n toast and flinty mineral acid. Gorgeous mouthcoating texture, such intense concentration of flavour and an awesome finish with refreshing cleansing, mouthtingling acidity seamlessly woven throughout providing focus and invigoration. This borders on the sublime to my taste. Would expect this to still be going strong in 2011. Rated Outstanding with the temptation to go for the "real big one" if this one gets any better with time.
Went well with ling fillets, lightly seasoned and lightly panfried, then baked with a crispy bacon, flaked almond, camembert, parmesan topping. Served with lemon-dipped avocado slivers. (On face value sounds a trifle overpowering dish for a Riesling - but this cracker stood up to the richness of the bacon and cheeses with aplomb)
