TN: Trimbach riesling 2011 (Alsace)

Post by Waiters Friend »

Lemon-yellow in colour. No kero on the nose, just a lot of delightful fruits - waxy apples, lemon-lime, and florals like apple and lemon blossoms. A touch of chalkiness and slate is also evident (but only a touch).

The palate hasgood but not sharp supporting acid, and the wine is cleansing inside the mouth and down to a medium / long finish. The fruit flavours are pristine, and there's no bitterness or sharp edges. A very good riesling, and possibly at the more delicate end for Alsace (despite 13% alcohol).

Cheers
Allan

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the different levels. Can you enlighten us, please?

I don't even recall when or where I acquired the wine - but there's a second bottle remaining in the cellar.
