Given the recent threads on Penfold's "g3" and the 2017 releases I thought people on this forum might enjoy seeing this picture that I just came across. It is from the 4th edition of Penfold's Rewards of Patience and features three present and past chief winemakers.
Clockwise from left: John Duval, Anthony Rose, James Halliday, Tim White, Peter Gago, Andrew Caillard, Don Ditter and Andrea Immer
Cheers ..................... Mahmoud.

Gender balance? Those look like comfy chairs for a tasting.

So conservatively 25+ years old...Halliday looks a school kid in the naughty corner.
Pity the prices then aren't somewhere near today.

Re: Penfold's Winemakers
The 4th edition was published in May 2000 so the photograph is likely from either 1999 or early 2000 depending on when the tasting was conducted. So about 18 year old. Fully agree about the pricing.phillisc wrote:So conservatively 25+ years old...Halliday looks a school kid in the naughty corner.
