Christmas Lunch in Melbourne

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

My partner Rita and I have decided to escape the Christmas family frenzy this year (in WA) by flying to Melbourne on Christmas Eve. We'll be spending a few days exploring the delights of Melbourne's CBD, with lots of rooftop bars, laneway bars, underground bars .... I sense a pattern developing. :)

I'll be looking for recommendations for said bars (i.e. good wine by the glass and something special / interesting to offer), but I am also looking to do the five star Christmas lunch in the CBD - at a place that has decent wine and interesting food. Not a buffet / trough and Omni sparkling on tap. We intend to eat and drink well at Christmas.

I've been Googling "Christmas Lunch Melbourne CBD 2017" and similar and getting nowhere. So I thought I would ask the experts.

Can you help?

Cheers

Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Try Bistro Thierry in Hawksburn, they do a sensational Christmas lunch. Ask for the window table. Should be taking bookings by now.
Have fun, so many fantastic places to eat in Melb.
Make sure you drop into Hector's Deli in Richmond for a coffee and toastie one morning, trust me, you will never, ever have the same mindset about toasted sandwiches again once you have been there. Simply incredible!!!
