Put me down as a tentative yes, I may be able to get down to Sydney for either the 28/29th. Preference for the 29th.
Can bring Wendouree and/or alternatives depending on what others are bringing.

Thanks Hacker, been meaning to get a Sydney offline going for a while, happy that someone has done it!
Count me in, happy with any of those dates. Only have a few young Wendourees, or I'm sure I can come up with something interesting to compare or contrast. Or maybe a few whites to start us off, up to you Mr Organiser!

I am happy to join but don't own any Wendouree, especially since I believe the wines are more like the Emperors Clothing than the real deal. This is my chance to be convinced otherwise. I can bring the desert wine. By the way are you aware you have chosen the first Friday of the school holidays? They start on Sat 23 Sept and finish on 8 October, so bring forward a week may allow more people to attend.

To save you being a wet blaket on the night, hunt down the 91 Malbec or 90 shiraz, both in magnum?

Happy to consider going back in date. Please, anyone that can't come due to school holiday restrictions please post so we can work around the best date for all.

Oh yeah I'm keen!
Michelle also really likes Wendouree, at least the three or so bottles we've ever had, so please put us both down.

Love Lamint and think it's a great option, but no meter how hard they try it's going to be very hard to pair the wine all the way working back to the entree's. I think literally all restaurants would struggle to provide appertif and entree to go with any Wendouree, made that much harder with Asian food.
Just a suggestion, Maybe a flight or two of whites, or a flight of champagne, then a flight of white? Or two flights of champagne?
Was hesitant to push the post button on this in fear of being way out of line, but just putting the thought out there.

Totally happy to spread different wines over the entrees. Even if we only have three or four Wendourees and perhaps a few other reds. That's why I called it Wendouree and friends.

I can bring a 2015 Shiraz if that helps people who want to try it without opening their own.
Will also bring something else.

Whilst tentative, I would love the opportunity to try the '15 Shiraz. I'm happy to bring a '99 Shiraz for the sake of comparison.
Also, later in September means more likely I can be there. However, as I'm tentative feel free to give priority to those who are more definite attendees.

You liked the 93 Cab Malbec we had at one other offline...That was probably the last Wendouree you had...

That is true. It was the offline at Maclay St Bistro but of the 8 or 9 I've tried that was far and away the best.

Hey Hacker,
Please put Lauren and I down as tentative.
Can bring a 2001 Shiraz Malbec (my only Wendouree) and maybe 2 friends.
Perhaps 2002 Champagne and a 2002 Clare Riesling?

Hi David and Lauren, thanks for that - I hope you guys can make it. My wife Linsey-Anne was at first unsure whether to come but now there are three gals who won't talk wine ALL night all is good.

If you are putting wives down then I should invite Lisette. She enjoyed the riesling dinner.

Mark, I'll put Lisette down, just let me know if she confirms.
Also there is a reserve list for those that still want to come. Often 2-4 people cancel from these things

I was thinking a 2003 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauternes. I know most forumites aren't keen on sweet wines but the odd person seems to appreciate them.

True but at least I haven't had an opportunity to drink it since that occasion.

G'day Hacker
I had this a few months ago and I'd open it the day before ! Test on the day to see if you need aeration for a few hours. You need to extract the wine's complexity with brutal aeration to avoid the comments it needs another decade!

Hi Jamie, thanks for the advice. I was thinking just the morning of serving, but your advice about the day before is noted. Do you think fully decanting the day before or just opening and Audouzing?
