TN: Picardy Pinot Noir 2011

G'day
This is the 'standard' model. not the Tete Du Cuvee. Most of the time, I actually prefer the standard wine.
Pale garnet and bell-clear. A fabulous nose of mushroom, earthiness, strawberry and cloves all meshed in deliciously. The palate has intensity and a light touch, with supporting acid, light but puckering tannins, strawberry and cherry fruit, leading to a quite long finish. There's delicacy and some palate weight, and I can understand if some people see that as a contradiction.
At 6 years old, this could be at its best. I had a 2014 recently that was nowhere near as balanced and fine as this (although it may get there).
Cheers
Allan
