Well after musing over my waxed pastels yesterday...July 3rd postmarked and here a day later...not bad!
Sorry Scotty V but think a separate thread to the Wendouree notes maybe appropriate.
Straight Cab and Shiraz $60, Malbec $55, Shiraz Malbec and Shiraz Mataro both $50
Apart from Shiraz which is the same price as last year, all other wines have gone up just $5
Let the fun begin
Cheers
Craig

Can anyone offer views on the 2015 vintage conditions in Clare relating to Shiraz, Cab etc?

Vintage report 2015
After an almost ‘text book’ growing season, the 2015 Vintage has wrapped up in the Clare Valley with a very strong result across the board.
Above-average winter rainfall provided a great kick start to the growing season. There was some isolated spring frost damage around the eastern and southern fringes of the Clare valley in October, but other than this the season was ‘trouble free’ from a viticultural viewpoint. A dry and mild spring lead into a mild early summer and it wasn’t until February that ‘normal’ summer conditions emerged. A very welcome 75mm of rain was received in the second week of January, which assisted in filling out berry size and maintaining good canopy and leaf condition.
February however turned out to be a very hot month and vintage operations cranked up in earnest in the first week of February, some 2 or 3 weeks ahead of what is generally considered ‘normal’. Despite the early start and the fact that the hot conditions brought most varieties into a similar ripening plane, the resultant juices and subsequent wines are showing fantastic varietal definition with good flavour, structure and excellent natural acid…all the hallmarks of a vintage with great longevity potential.
Supply and demand now appear to be back in balance with only a few unlucky growers left with unsold fruit, mainly due to the constraints of the season. The compact nature of this vintage, particularly during February, meant that most wineries had to prioritise blocks and growers that did not have strong winery relationships may have had fruit left hanging a little longer than expected but due to the relatively mild conditions fruit quality was generally maintained.
Yields generally were at least average with Riesling and Shiraz in particular proving to be most resilient in terms of productivity. Riesling quality generally appears to be on the top end of expectations with most wine producers really happy with what they have in their tanks.

Sorry fellas, just messn with ya...I didn't get a one off, just can't read
Filled out and sent off yesterday, clearly have busted a nut Matt, yes I am old, can't do maths, have paid too much, but the good folk at Wendouree will understand and if I have given them too much money, it will be sorted.
By the way what was our man up north smoking?? This time last year Wendouree was sold and I would be paying first growth prices to keep on the mailer.
All the best, hope everyone gets what they want, think we should do a Wendouree offline every couple of years and Dave V (you love it just as much as me)...but won't post again until the boxes arrive...well here's hoping.
Cheers
Craig

Dave I'm in the same boat. I leave for the states in a week for 3 weeks.
I called the winery yesterday and they said mailers were sent out
on friday last week. I didn't like the idea of trying to organise my order once I was away.
I'll bang mine thru this week so it's outta the worry basket.
More first world problems !

I wouldn't sweat about late applications. I was in the States this time last year. Filled out my form mid August and still received everything I asked for.

Mine arrived on Tuesday also. Just finalising household negotiations around how much it is reasonable to buy this year (noting that I am still just red crayon, and may only get partial allocation). Aiming for six of everything

Better send it off tonight!

The whole thing not just the the crayon-craziness . It's great for the Aussie wine scene which can be a little dreary.
Sale of Wendouree went down like some Filipino speculative oil shares in the same conversations. Sorry if you emptied your pockets on a full allocation last year.

I'm new to the mailing list and just sent off my order - very curious to see what I receive and try the wines. Anyone have a feel for how the 2015 wines compare to recent vintages (e.g. 2012)?

I didnt order last year beacuse i went halfs with a local winemaker and beacuse of that i didnt recieved a mailer this year. I called up today and asked, i was taken off the list. So next year one will be sent out. il just have to order off a mates list again. Atleast il get excatly what i ask for.. She said you dont have to order to stay on the list. Just send back the form and mention you dont want to make any orders. That way youll stay in the system.

2012 was a very good vintage generally speaking. From 2012 onward its been a very good run of back to back vintages. Good wines should come from all of the 2013 to 2017 vintages accordingly. The Brady’s have very good control over crop yields, when to pick and what fruit actually gets picked. You’ll get variation in how the varieties fair from year to year, but overall like I said its been a good run of vintages. I posted a vintage report up further, in summary 2015 was a condensed vintage due to the heat around picking time. So I guess you can make a a pretty good assumption from this information.

Alcohols on the following are:
2015 Cab/Malbec 14.0%
2015 Malbec 14.3%
2015 Shiraz/Mal 14.1%
2015 Shiraz 14.3%
